This project was a independent study of a photographer or filmmaker of my choice. I was asked to create a photo series consistent with the artist’s subject matter and style. I chose to study the famous filmmaker Wes Anderson, who is known for his unique color palettes and perfectly symmetrical compositions. By limiting my photos to muted pinks, blues, and greens, I was able to replicate the soft, flat hues Anderson is so widely known for. In addition to this intentional color choice, I also aimed to craft my characters and story around a few of this filmmaker’s common themes. Anderson’s movies usually involve young individuals on some sort of adventure, and in more than one of his films, the common method of correspondence is letters. This is why I chose the imagery I did, and what I hope will remind onlookers of such a fantastic influence.
